Thank you to everyone for your continuing support. We are asking that in lieu of gifts or flowers, donations be made to the Team Kessler Memorial Fund. The memorial fund will be used to purchase and dedicate a bench and plaque in Michael’s honor at Margy’s Hut on the 10th Mountain Division Hut Association Trail.

We’re excited this dedication will offer skiers and hikers a place to rest where Michael can continue to inspire and encourage visitors to live life to its fullest each and every day.

Michael passed away last night at 9:33p.m. with his family by his side.  He fought the good fight until the very end doing things his way and by that I mean he wanted to be at home and as coherent as possible while managing his pain.

We have set up this website to centralize communication about upcoming services and other details on how we will be honoring Michael in the coming days.  Through the online Guest Book the family invites you to continue participating in their journey in celebrating Mchael by sharing your stories, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service to be held at Woodman Valley Chapel on Thursday July 3rd, 2008 at 11:00 AM. A reception immediately following the service will be held at the church for friends and family to visit.   In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to the “Team Kessler” memorial fund. More details of how to donate and information on the memorial will be following in the next day or two.

Elizabeth Kubler-Ross said “People are like stained glassed windows; they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within.” In his last few hours Gods light continued to shine through him.  We were looking to help him and make him more comfortable and asking him questions about what he needed …he responded   “I’ve never died before” exemplifying that in quietness and confidence shall be his strength.

We look forward with open items welcoming visitors to our home prior to Thursday as well as joining us at the reception immediately following his Celebration memorial service.

Giving thanks with grateful hearts,

Monica, Steph and Drew
